Robbie Tinkler

Tinkler is a full back who graduated from the Middlesbrough Academy. He failed to make an appearance for the first team at Boro but spent time on loan at North Ferriby United and Gateshead, who he joined permanently in 2018. He made 17 appearances whilst on loan at the Heed in 2017/18, and last season he played in all but one of the Heed’s 46 league games, becoming a key player at right-back as they narrowly missed out on the National League Play-Offs.

Oliver O’Dwyer

O’Dwyer joined the Shots in June 2019 and along with Kodi Lyons-Foster, was Manager Danny Searle’s first signing for the club. He joined from Crystal Palace where he was a regular, dominant face in their U23 side. He joined the Eagles from Reading as an Under-16 back in 2013 and in his time at the club helped the U23 squad win the Professional Development League 2 title. He is described as an imposing defender who is also good on the ball.

Kodi Lyons-Foster

Lyons-Foster joined in June 2019 for his second spell at the club and was new Shots boss Danny Searle’s first signing along with Ollie O’Dwyer. Lyons-Foster has represented England at U16 level and has also featured in the Academy’s of Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. He joined Bristol City from Villa in 2016 but didn’t make a senior appearance there and spent time out on loan at Guernsey. He joined the Shots in 2017 after a successful trial but left the club at the expiration of his contract in January 2018 after making seven appearances. He then joined Whitehawk on a permanent deal after an initial loan period from Aldershot before joining newly-promoted Braintree Town in the National League last summer. He missed just seven league games for the Iron last season and teams back up with Searle who managed the defender in the latter stages of 2018/19.

Alex Finney

A towering centre-back; Finney started his career at Leyton Orient before moving to Championship club Bolton Wanderers in 2014 where he made three appearances. He joined Queen’s Park Rangers in 2016 but failed to make an appearance for the West London club and he was loaned out to Maidstone for the 2017/18 season before joining them permanently this summer. He joined the Shots in December 2018 on a free transfer and won Man of the Match on his debut against Wrexham.

Lewis Kinsella

Left-back who came through Arsenal’s Academy before moving to Aston Villa’s Academy in 2011. Failed to make an appearance at the Villans but had spells out on loan at League Two side Luton Town, where he made his professional debut and at Kidderminster Harriers in the National League Premier. Signed permanently with Colchester United in 2016 where he made 29 appearances before moving to the Shots initially on loan for a month, before signing permanently at the end of January 2018 where his performances earned him another one-year deal with the club in May.

George Fowler

Joined the Shots with team-mate McDonnell from Ipswich Town on loan in September 2017, after several extensions to his loan he, also like McDonnell, joined the Shots on a permanent deal in January 2018 after making just one first-team appearance for Ipswich which was against Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup.
