Plainmoor Stadium, Torquay: kick off 17.20pm
From our own STADIA section, useful travel details to the English riviera…
Around 1,100 away supporters can be accommodated in the Riviera Rentals Away Terrace, at one end of the ground. In addition, up to 500 seats can also be made in the new Bristow’s Bench Stand on one side of the stadium. Both of these areas are covered. The acoustics in the away terrace are particularly good, meaning that relatively few away supporters can still really make some noise from this area. The views from the Bristow’s Bench Stand are excellent and you are that high up that you can see well over the Popular Terrace opposite and to the hills in the distance. The leg room is great with plenty of space between rows. However, do bear in mind that the stand is quite steep to walk up. Home and away fans in this stand are separated by some netting placed over the seats. The facilities are also generally good with a modern toilet block.
Away Fans

Having missed Solihull and Woking, this will be my first Shots away game of the season and it will hopefully follow that heroic victory over FC Halifax.
Donkeys years ago Torquay United (as fellow fifty-somethings will remember), used to play their home fixtures on a Saturday evening with a 7.30pm kick-off so a game at tea-time (5.20pm) doesn’t seem that unusual.
However, living on the south coast and travelling by train and needing two or three station changes means the four-hour journey back from Torquay the same evening is unlikely so, hotel needed.
These chains Premier Inns and Travelodge always advertise rooms around £30 and of course it never amounts to that; apparently they get round this by having one or two rooms at that price that are immediately snapped up so the causual punter will always be disappointed.
Shop around.
Room reserved. Rail travel…
With the planned club travel coach cancelled, my guess is that most Shots fans will be travelling by car or train but even so, making this post and similar ones in the future can prove helpful.
Also for travelling fans. from TUFC’s website:
Plainmoor Stadium is situated in St. Marychurch, a suburb of Torquay and is within walking distance of Torquay town centre.
