Here we are again. An unusual start to the season with no fans allowed into open air stadia yet I can fly among 300 people in an aeroplane. Buffoon Boris. But then, if you employ a clown, you usually acquire a circus.
Now we’ve got the live stream initiative plus Rob Worrall’s dulcets on BBC Radio Surrey. He will be at Victoria Park alongside Alan Baldwin.
This will be a live match post given the abnormal circumstances. I’ll update it via the Shots Twitter feed and, though lack of pictures, will turn into a match report ultimately/
These are the Gameweek 1 fixtures.

TEAM NEWS!
Suppose McCormack isn’t match ready. Did he play at all last season?
Interesting eleven. I think playing the northern monkeys first up gives us a better chance of beating them.
We’re top at the moment: will we still be at 8pm?
First goal of the afternoon…
Good early pressure from Aldershot Town as they search for the game’s first chance.
Aldershot Town win the first corner of the game.
Hartlepool attack down the right and Sendles-White clears well to turn the ball behind for a corner.
The corner comes in but Fowler defends at the front post and earns a goal-kick.
Aldershot Town break on the counter with Rees, Edser and Bettamer but Edser’s ball across to Bettamer is slightly behind him and Hartlepool clear the danger.
Cass crosses for Donaldson who breaks into the box but his effort is wide.
On 22 minutes, Cass the right back getting too much joy. Small stoppage in play as Ogie goes down with a knock.
On the half-hour, Donaldson shoots but Walker saves brilliantly at his front post and turns it behind for a corner.
Shots fans on social media complaining of the streaming picture quality. Or rather, the lack of it.
Penalty to Hartlepool. Finney intercept the cross before Ogie looks to clear the rebound, he catches the onrushing Hartlepool forward and the referee calls a penalty.
36′ Goal to Hartlepool. Nicky Featherstone goes to his left, sending Walker the wrong way.
I’m watching Soccer Saturday. It’s the adverts. Jeff is gonna be happy.
Aldershot Town come forward with Edser who beats his man before cutting the ball across but the ball is just in front of Bettamer and out for a goal kick.
Aldershot Town win a free-kick down the right-hand side. Tanner takes it but the hosts clear.
HALF-TIME: 1-0 to Hartlepool United.
Cheeky!
Aldershot Town seeing the majority of the ball early in the opening 10 minutes as we push for an equaliser. Tanner finds Lyons-Foster with a deep free-kick but his header is blocked and put behind for a corner.
62′ – Fowler defends well against Ofosu and earns the goal kick.
Come on Shots, not another 0-1 away defeat surely… oh HELLO!
Craig Tanner puts us level!
70′ – Brilliant blocks from Finney and Rees clear Ferguson’s effort inside the penalty area
Tanner takes and picks out Rees at the back post who slid in and saw his effort bounce back off the post before being called back for offside!
Heartache Tonight, Yesterday Once More and Happening All Over Again are songs that come to mind as Hartlepool nick a winner just three minutes from the end. Oates is found at the back post before heading home from a few yards out.
I would have been happy with a point there but the wait to beat them goes on.
It sounded as though we were the better side second half but fell asleep for the winning goal and need to sharpen up fast.
Eastleigh will top the table and the fantastically named Connor Lemonheigh-Evans scored Torquay’s late winner against Stockport.
Positives to take from today? Those who partially saw it (poor picture quality) or listened online will no doubt make their points known on social media platforms.
About time our club had a forum, really.
Goodnight!
